Product Specific Information

The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Target Information

Ribosomes are organelles responsible for protein synthesis, consisting of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. These subunits include four RNA species and about 80 distinct proteins.
The RPS19 gene encodes a ribosomal protein that is part of the 40S subunit and belongs to the S19E family. It is localized in the cytoplasm.
Mutations in this gene cause Diamond-Blackfan anemia, characterized by reduced erythroid precursors. This suggests an extra-ribosomal role in erythropoietic differentiation and proliferation.
Higher expression of RPS19 has been observed in some primary colon carcinomas compared to normal colon tissue. Multiple processed pseudogenes of this gene are dispersed throughout the genome.
