• Description: Monoclonal rat IgG2a kappa is useful as an isotype control immunoglobulin.
• Applications Reported: Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.
• Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes and human peripheral blood cells. Use at same concentration as experimental antibody.
• Fluorochrome: Brilliant Ultra Violet™ 805 (BUV805) emits at 797 nm and is intended for use with UV (355 nm) laser-equipped cytometers.
• Buffer Recommendations: When using polymer dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) or Brilliant Stain Buffer (Product # 00-4409-75) to minimize non-specific interactions.
• Light Sensitivity: Protect vial and samples from light.
• Fixation: Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.
• Methanol Compatibility: Compatible with short-term methanol fixation (<1 hour).
• Excitation/Emission: 355 nm / 797 nm; UV Laser.

Target Information

Rat IgG2a is an immunoglobulin subclass used in research and diagnostic applications. It activates complement and mediates ADCC. Molecular weight ≈160 kDa, composed of two heavy and two light chains. Commonly used as control/reference antibody in rat model experiments, flow cytometry, and immunohistochemistry.
