Product Specific Information
This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.
Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies:
- High specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulation
- Broader immunoreactivity due to the rabbit immune repertoire
This antibody has specificity for Mouse VEGFR3/FLT-4.
Target Information
Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a key regulator of blood vessel development in embryos and angiogenesis in adult tissues.
VEGFC, a related factor, stimulates lymphatic vessel growth through the lymphatic endothelial receptor VEGFR-3.
In 1998, Dumont demonstrated that targeted inactivation of the VEGFR-3 gene in mice caused defective blood vessel development during early embryogenesis. Although vasculogenesis and angiogenesis occurred, large vessels became abnormally organized with defective lumens, leading to fluid accumulation in the pericardial cavity and cardiovascular failure at embryonic day 9.5.
Thus, VEGFR3 plays an essential role in embryonic cardiovascular system development before the emergence of lymphatic vessels.
