Target Information
XPD는 DNA 손상 복구 메커니즘인 뉴클레오타이드 절제 복구 경로(nucleotide excision repair pathway)에 관여합니다. 이 단백질은 전사 결합 뉴클레오타이드 절제 복구(transcription-coupled nucleotide excision repair)에 관여하며, 기본 전사 인자 BTF2/TFIIH 복합체의 구성 성분입니다. ATP 의존성 DNA 헬리케이스 활성을 가지며 RAD3/XPD 헬리케이스 하위 패밀리에 속합니다. 이 유전자의 결함은 xeroderma pigmentosum complementation group D, trichothiodystrophy, Cockayne syndrome 등의 질환을 유발할 수 있습니다. 다양한 전사체 변이체가 보고되어 있으며, 서로 다른 아이소폼을 암호화합니다.
