Product Specific Information
- In direct ELISAs and Western blots, approximately 15% cross-reactivity with recombinant human CA4 is observed.
- Less than 2% cross-reactivity with rhCA3, rhCA10, rhCA13, recombinant mouse CA9, and CA12.
- Reconstitution: Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
Carbonic anhydrases are a family of zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. They are involved in respiration, calcification, acid-base balance, bone resorption, and the formation of various body fluids such as aqueous humor, cerebrospinal fluid, saliva, and gastric acid.
This gene encodes a glycosylphosphatidyl-inositol-anchored membrane isozyme expressed on the luminal surfaces of pulmonary capillaries and proximal renal tubules. Its exact function is not fully understood but may relate to inherited renal abnormalities of bicarbonate transport.
