This antibody has specificity for Human FOXJ1.
Target Information
Forkhead-box J1 (FOXJ1) is a 421-amino acid transcription factor that suppresses T cell activity and spontaneous autoimmunity through repression of NF-κB activity. It also inhibits the humoral immune response in B cells.
FOXJ1 deficiency in B cells leads to spontaneous and enhanced germinal center formation, contributing to pathogenic autoantibody development and heightened immune responses.
Abnormal FOXJ1 expression has been linked to autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.
FOXJ1 is also essential for cilia formation and left-right axis determination by increasing calpastatin expression, which enables basal bodies to anchor to the apical cytoskeleton.
FOXJ1 expression may serve as an early marker for epithelial cell differentiation, recovery, and function.
