This FF26A monoclonal antibody reacts with human glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH), a key enzyme in glycolysis. GAPDH (36 kDa) is constitutively expressed in all tissues at varying levels and is commonly used as a control for protein loading in differential expression experiments.
The FF26A antibody is cross-reactive to mouse GAPDH.

Target Information
GAPDH (Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase) is a catalytic enzyme involved in glycolysis, forming a tetramer of identical 37 kDa subunits. It catalyzes the reversible reduction of 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate to glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate in the presence of NADPH.
Beyond glycolysis, GAPDH participates in DNA replication, repair, RNA export, membrane fusion, and microtubule bundling. It plays essential roles in apoptosis, neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s), and cancer-related cellular processes.
Due to its high expression across tissues, GAPDH is widely used as a protein loading control in Western blot analysis.
