Target Information

This gene encodes a member of the cyclin family. Cyclins regulate cell cycle transitions by binding and activating cyclin-dependent kinases. This protein also belongs to the F-box family, characterized by a ~40 amino acid F-box motif. F-box proteins are subunits of the SCF ubiquitin ligase complex, functioning in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination. They are classified into Fbws (WD-40 domains), Fbls (leucine-rich repeats), and Fbxs (other interaction modules or no motifs). The encoded protein belongs to the Fbxs class and was among the first identified F-box proteins.
