Product Specific Information
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.
Advantages include:
- High specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulations
- Broader immunoreactivity due to the large rabbit immune repertoire
Target Information
MiTF (Microphthalmia-associated Transcription Factor) is a basic helix-loop-helix-leucine zipper (b-HLH-ZIP) transcription factor involved in pigmentation, mast cell, and bone development.
Mutations in MiTF cause Waardenburg Syndrome type II in humans.
In mice, loss of MiTF leads to depigmentation, osteopetrosis, and defects in natural killer and mast cells.
Two isoforms exist, differing by 66 amino acids at the N-terminus:
- Shorter forms (52–56 kDa): expressed in melanocytes
- Longer forms (60–70 kDa): expressed in osteoclasts, B16 melanoma cells, mast cells, and heart
For Research Use Only.
Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
