Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, it is recommended to perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
NFS1 (Nitrogen Fixation 1), also known as NIFS or IscS (Cysteine Desulfurase), belongs to the class V pyridoxal-phosphate-dependent aminotransferase family.
It localizes to the cytoplasm or mitochondrion depending on cytosolic pH. Highest expression levels are found in heart and skeletal muscle, with lower expression in liver, brain, and pancreas.
NFS1 catalyzes the removal of sulfur from cysteine to form alanine, supplying inorganic sulfur for iron-sulfur (Fe-S) clusters. Fe-S clusters serve as essential cofactors in electron transfer, enzymatic catalysis, and DNA repair processes.
