Description:
The eBioHMb1-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse and rat CD29 (integrin beta 1), a 110–120 kDa member of the beta integrin family expressed by leukocytes, endothelial, smooth muscle, and epithelial cells. CD29 forms heterodimers with alpha integrins (CD49a-f, CD51) to mediate adhesion, trafficking, proliferation, and differentiation. It binds to extracellular matrix proteins such as collagen, laminin, fibronectin, and vitronectin, and interacts with receptors like VCAM-1 and MadCAM-1.

Each product includes 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate and 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested on mouse bone marrow cells at ≤ 0.2 µg/test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Antibody should be titrated for optimal performance.

Important Notes:

• NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI).
• Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for viability.
• Use CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) for optimal staining. Add 5 µL per sample to antibody cocktails.
• For single-color controls: add 5 µL per 100 µL of cell sample (10³–10⁸ cells).

NovaFluor conjugates use Phiton™ technology, employing engineered nucleic acid dye structures for improved fluorescence performance with reduced spillover and spectral spread.

Target Information

ITGB1 (Integrin Subunit Beta 1, CD29):
A 110 kDa cell surface glycoprotein expressed by leukocytes and various cell types. Forms heterodimers with alpha chains (α1–α6) to generate VLA integrins involved in adhesion and migration. Plays roles in immune cell trafficking, tissue remodeling, and inflammatory responses. Expression correlates with multidrug resistance in tumor cells and cytokine secretion regulation in airway smooth muscle. Two major isoforms exist: β1A (ubiquitous) and β1D (cardiac/skeletal muscle).
