Target Information
CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising about 10% of lymphocyte surface proteins. It is absent on non-hematopoietic cells and tissues. CD45 glycoprotein plays a crucial role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling, regulating Src-family kinases. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing transmembrane and cytoplasmic domains. CD45RA, an isoform, shows restricted expression among lymphoid subtypes. CD45 regulates T- and B-cell receptor signaling, suppresses JAK kinases, and influences cytokine receptor signaling, integrin-mediated pathways, apoptosis, and other immune functions.
