Target Information
Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor associated factors (TRAFs) act as adaptor proteins linking TNF receptor superfamily members to intracellular signaling pathways. They regulate cell death and stress responses by mediating receptor-proximal signaling events. TRAF2 and TRAF3 bind to CD40, a receptor critical for NF-κB activation in B lymphocytes. TRAF2 also participates in CD40 signaling in non-hematopoietic cells and interacts with lymphotoxin-beta receptor (LTβR) along with TRAF3, cIAP1, and Smac to regulate apoptosis and immune responses.
