Target Information
GADD153 (CHOP) is a small nuclear protein that dimerizes with transcription factors C/EBP alpha and beta.
These dimers inhibit normal C/EBP binding and function, while gaining binding activity to stress-related targets.
Under normal conditions, GADD153 expression is undetectable but is upregulated during cellular or ER stress, such as treatment with tunicamycin, nutrient starvation, or reducing agents affecting calcium flux across the ER membrane.
