Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Podoplanin (PDPN, also known as T1A, gp38, or Aggrus) is a mucin-type 1 glycoprotein with a molecular weight of approximately 40–43 kDa.
It is expressed in various tumors and normal cells, particularly in lymphatic epithelial cells and follicular dendritic cells.
PDPN localizes in stromal cells of peripheral lymphoid tissue and thymic epithelial cells, playing a regulatory role in the lymphatic endothelium and maintaining podocyte morphology.

PDPN serves as a ligand for CLEC-2, and its expression correlates with tumor invasiveness and metastatic potential.
It is involved in cell migration, metastasis formation, and tumor invasion. Expression can be induced via Src activation of Cas and has been observed on Th17 cells.
Studies indicate PDPN presence on a subset of CD4+ cells from human PBMCs.
Dysfunction of PDPN is linked to diseases such as lymphangioma and subglottic neoplasm, and it has been proposed as a marker for lung injury due to its physiological role.
