Product Specific Information
- IHC (PFA-fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Antigen Retrieval: Heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
CD5 is a 67 kDa human T-lymphocyte single-chain transmembrane glycoprotein. It is expressed on all mature T-lymphocytes, most thymocytes, and many T-cell leukemias and lymphomas. CD5 also reacts with a subpopulation of activated B-cells and may act as a receptor regulating T-cell proliferation.
CD5 is found on 95% of thymocytes and 72% of peripheral blood lymphocytes, with main reactivity in T-cell areas of lymph nodes.
Diseases associated with CD5 dysfunction include thymus cancer and Richter’s Syndrome.
