Target Information
Cell cycle–regulated protein ubiquitination and degradation within subcellular domains are essential for normal mitotic progression.
APC7 is a highly conserved component of the anaphase promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C), an E3 ubiquitin ligase regulating mitosis and G1 phase progression.
APC/C mediates degradation of anaphase inhibitors, mitotic cyclins, and spindle-associated proteins, ensuring proper mitotic sequence.
APC7 is required for APC/C’s ubiquitination activity and interaction with transcription coactivators.
