This antibody is predicted to react with non-human primate, mouse, and rat based on sequence homology.

Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They consist of multiple different recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity of monoclonal antibodies, while maintaining lot-to-lot consistency.

Functionally similar to polyclonal antibodies, they recognize multiple epitope sites on the target and offer higher detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets. The recombinant Superclonal™ format eliminates biological variability by using a defined mixture of light and heavy chains that can be reproduced consistently.

Target Information

INSR is a receptor tyrosine kinase. Binding of insulin to the extracellular domain of INSR stimulates glucose uptake. INSR and IGF-1 receptors share major structural and functional similarity. The earliest cellular response to insulin stimulation is autophosphorylation of tyrosine in INSR. In humans, the INSR gene is located on chromosome 19. Defects in INSR are associated with various insulin resistance syndromes, and IGF-1R defects may cause some forms of growth retardation.
