Target Information

The 6x His tag is a synthetic oligopeptide consisting of six consecutive histidine residues (HHHHHH).
It is commonly expressed at the N- or C-terminal regions of recombinant proteins to facilitate isolation or purification by immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC).

Epitope tagging enables detection of recombinant proteins using known epitopes when specific antibodies are unavailable.
His-tagged proteins can be purified using metal chelate chromatography due to the strong and selective affinity of histidine residues to Ni²⁺-NTA adsorbents.

His tag-specific antibodies are widely used for detection, purification, and co-immunoprecipitation of tagged proteins.
