• Reconstitution:
  Briefly centrifuge vial before opening. Reconstitute lyophilized protein in sterile, distilled water or buffer to 0.1–1.0 mg/mL. Do not vortex. Store solution at 2–8°C for up to 1 week. For long-term storage, dilute in buffer containing 0.1% BSA and store aliquots at -20°C to -80°C.
• Storage:
  Lyophilized protein is stable at room temperature for 1 month, but should be stored at -20°C for long-term use. Working aliquots with carrier protein are stable for at least 10 months at -20°C to -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Target Information

Interleukin-17A (IL-17A, CTLA-8) is a CD4+ T cell-derived cytokine that promotes inflammatory responses in cell lines and is elevated in rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, and transplant rejection.
IL-17A is a 32 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer consisting of 136 amino acids, belonging to the IL-17 family (IL-17A–17F), and signals through the IL-17 receptor (IL-17R/CDw217).
It enhances ICAM-1 expression in fibroblasts and stimulates epithelial, endothelial, or fibroblastic cells to secrete IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE2.
IL-17A supports proliferation of CD34+ hematopoietic progenitors and induces neutrophil maturation.
Mouse, rat, and human IL-17A can induce IL-6 secretion in mouse stromal cells, indicating receptor cross-reactivity.
IL-17A regulates NF-κB and MAP kinase activity, stimulates IL-6 and COX-2 expression, and enhances nitric oxide (NO) production.
