Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody SolA15 recognizes mouse and rat Ki-67, a 300 kDa nuclear protein present during all active phases of the cell cycle (G1, S, G2, and mitosis) but absent in resting cells (G0). Ki-67 redistributes from the nucleus to chromosomes during mitosis and serves as a marker for determining the growth fraction of a cell population. The Ki-67 labeling index, indicating the proportion of Ki-67 positive cells, is used to assess tumor proliferation and prognosis. Ki-67 interacts with CBX3 (chromobox protein homolog 3) in heterochromatin.

SolA15 also recognizes human, non-human primate, and canine Ki-67.

Applications Reported: Intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested by intracellular staining of mouse splenocytes using the Foxp3/Transcription Factor Staining Buffer Set (Product #00-5523-00). Recommended ≤0.25 µg/test in 100 µL final volume. Optimal titration required.

Target Information

Ki-67 is a nuclear protein expressed during late G1, S, G2, and M phases of the cell cycle. It contains a forkhead-associated (FHA) domain, localizing to euchromatin and heterochromatin regions. Expression patterns vary by cell cycle phase, making Ki-67 a reliable proliferation marker absent in G0 cells. Ki-67 antibodies help determine the growth fraction in neoplasms, correlating with tumor grade and prognosis. It is also used as a neuronal marker for cell cycling and proliferation.
