This product contains purified recombinant full-length human PKM2 Pyruvate Kinase protein with an N-terminal hexahistidine tag.
It may be used as a positive control in various immunological assays.
Target Information
PKM2 is a pyruvate kinase that catalyzes the production of phosphoenolpyruvate from pyruvate and ATP.
It interacts with thyroid hormone and may mediate cellular metabolic effects induced by thyroid hormones.
PKM2 also binds Opa protein, a bacterial outer membrane protein involved in gonococcal adherence and invasion of human cells, suggesting a role in bacterial pathogenesis.
Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding two distinct isoforms of PKM2 have been reported.
