Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Cadherins are a family of transmembrane glycoproteins involved in calcium-dependent cell–cell interactions. They play key roles in maintaining tissue integrity and morphogenesis.
Cadherins are categorized into type I and type II subgroups:
- Type I cadherins: E-cadherin (cadherin-1), N-cadherin (cadherin-2), P-cadherin (cadherin-3), and R-cadherin (cadherin-4)
- Type II cadherins: K-cadherin (cadherin-6) and OB-cadherin (cadherin-11)
K-cadherin (cadherin-6) is expressed in the proximal tubule epithelium of the kidney, from which most renal cell carcinomas originate.
