For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using carrier-free antibody, perform an additional round of desalting (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

S100B is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing two EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. These proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of various cells and regulate cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation.
S100B may function in neurite extension, melanoma cell proliferation, stimulation of Ca²⁺ fluxes, inhibition of PKC-mediated phosphorylation, astrocytosis and axonal proliferation, and inhibition of microtubule assembly.
Chromosomal rearrangements and altered expression of this gene have been linked to diseases including Alzheimer’s disease, Down’s syndrome, epilepsy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, melanoma, and type I diabetes.
