Target Information

CDCA8 is a component of the chromosomal passenger complex (CPC), which includes Survivin, CDCA8, INCENP, and Aurora-B. This complex is essential for the stability of the bipolar mitotic spindle and plays crucial roles in mitosis and cell division.
CDCA8 expression increases during the G2/M phase and decreases after exit from M phase. It is regulated by p53/Rb signaling and upregulated in various cancer tissues.
Inactivation of CDCA8 in Drosophila cells leads to polyploidy and abnormal tissue development, highlighting its role in cell proliferation.
CDCA8 is vital during early embryonic development, and its aberrant expression is associated with poor prognosis in gastric cancer.
