Target Information
STAT3는 STAT (signal transducers and activators of transcription) 단백질 군에 속하며, receptor-associated kinase에 의해 인산화되어 핵으로 이동한 후 cytokine 및 growth factor 반응에 따른 전사 인자로 작용합니다.
STAT3의 활성화에는 CREB-binding protein과 같은 공동활성화 인자가 필요하며, Interferon-α, Interferon-γ, EGF, PDGF, IL6 등에 의해 활성화될 수 있습니다.
Tyrosine 705 위치의 인산화는 STAT3의 이합체 형성, 핵 이동, DNA 결합 활성에 필수적입니다.
STAT3 유전자는 인간 17번 염색체 q arm에 위치하며, IFN-α에 의해 활성화되지만 IFN-β에는 반응하지 않습니다.
STAT3는 다양한 유전자 발현을 매개하여 세포 성장과 apoptosis 등 여러 세포 과정에서 핵심 역할을 합니다.
