The TRI-COLOR® conjugate is a tandem R-phycoerythrin (PE)-Cy5 conjugate that allows simultaneous multicolor labeling and detection of multiple targets using a single excitation source — the 488 nm line of the argon-ion laser.

Target Information

CD8 (Cluster of Differentiation 8) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin receptor family. It plays a critical role in signal transduction and T cell differentiation and activation.
CD8 is mainly expressed on T cells as a disulfide-linked heterodimer of CD8α and CD8β, functioning as a co-receptor with the T cell receptor (TCR) for MHC class I molecules.
It is also found on subsets of T cells, NK cells, monocytes, and dendritic cells as CD8α homodimers.
Engagement of MHC-I/peptide complexes by antigen-presenting cells recruits Lck kinase, leading to lymphokine production and cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) activation.
Activated CTLs are essential for pathogen and tumor cell clearance, and their differentiation is enhanced by IL-2, IL-12, and TGF-β1.
