Target Information
UNC45A, also known as SMAP1, acts as a co-chaperone for HSP90. It prevents stimulation of HSP90AB1 ATPase activity by AHSA1 and promotes PGR function in cells. UNC45A is essential for proper folding of myosin, normal cell proliferation, myotube formation, and myosin accumulation during muscle development. It also plays a role in erythropoiesis in spleen stroma cells.
