Target Information

ITGB1BP1 is a key regulator of integrin-mediated cell–matrix interaction signaling by binding to the ITGB1 cytoplasmic tail and preventing activation of integrin α5β1 by talin or FERMT1. It plays roles in:

  • Cell proliferation, differentiation, spreading, adhesion, and migration
  • Bone development and angiogenesis
  • Regulation of β1 integrin-containing focal adhesion site dynamics
  • Control of osteoblast spreading and migration in fibronectin/collagen-dependent contexts
  • Regulation of Rho family GTPases (CDC42, RAC1) during integrin-mediated adhesion
  • ROCK1 translocation and increased myoblast migration on laminin
  • Bone mineralization at late osteoblast differentiation stages
  • Negative regulation of angiogenesis via Notch signaling and modulation of AKT/ERK1/2 phosphorylation
  • Promotion of MYC promoter transcriptional activity
