- It is also expected to recognize mouse isoforms 1 (NP_071704.3), 2 (NP_001154928.1), and 3 (NP_001154929.1).

Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is the beta subunit of a heterodimeric core-binding transcription factor (PEBP2/CBF family) regulating genes involved in hematopoiesis (e.g., RUNX1) and osteogenesis (e.g., RUNX2). The beta subunit acts as a non-DNA binding regulatory component enhancing DNA binding of the alpha subunit.
Alternative splicing produces two mRNA variants encoding distinct isoforms. A chromosomal inversion [inv(16)(p13q22)] can generate a fusion transcript associated with acute myeloid leukemia (M4Eo subtype).
