Product Specific Information
The eBio64DEC17 antibody reacts with human IL-17A and functions as a neutralizing antibody. IL-17A is a CD4+ T cell-derived cytokine that promotes inflammatory responses and is elevated in rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, and transplant rejection. It exists as glycosylated 20–30 kDa homodimers produced by activated peripheral blood CD4+ T cells.
IL-17A enhances ICAM-1 expression in fibroblasts and induces secretion of IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE2 from epithelial and endothelial cells. It also supports proliferation and maturation of CD34+ hematopoietic progenitors into neutrophils.
IL-23-dependent, IL-17A-producing CD4+ T cells (Th17 cells) represent a distinct subset negatively regulated by Th1 and Th2 cytokines (IFN-γ and IL-4). Intracellular staining by eBio64DEC17 identifies the same population as eBio64CAP17.
Applications Reported: Intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated using the Intracellular Fixation and Permeabilization Buffer Set (Product # 88-8824-00). Use at 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test (100 µL final volume).

Target Information
Interleukin-17A (IL-17A, CTLA-8) is a CD4+ T cell-derived cytokine that promotes inflammatory responses and signals through IL-17R/CDw217. It is a 32 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer of 136 amino acids, part of the IL-17 family (A–F). IL-17A enhances ICAM-1 expression and stimulates secretion of IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE2, regulating NF-κB and MAPK pathways and promoting COX-2 and nitric oxide production.
