Product Specific Information

The eBio17B7 antibody reacts with mouse and rat IL-17A without cross-reactivity to IL-17F. IL-17A is a CD4⁺ T cell-derived cytokine involved in inflammatory responses and elevated in diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, and transplant rejection.

IL-23-dependent, IL-17A-producing CD4⁺ T cells (Th17 cells) represent a distinct T helper subset regulated negatively by Th1 and Th2 cytokines (IFN-γ and IL-4).

Applications Reported:

• Intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:

• Tested on stimulated mouse splenocytes using the Intracellular Fixation and Permeabilization Buffer Set (Product #88-8824-00).
• Recommended usage ≤ 0.5 µg/test (in 100 µL final volume).
• Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.
• Optimize antibody titration for best performance.

• eFluor® 506 is excited by a 405 nm violet laser and emits at 506 nm.

Target Information

Interleukin-17A (IL-17A, CTLA-8) is a CD4⁺ T cell-derived cytokine that promotes inflammatory responses and is elevated in several autoimmune and inflammatory conditions.
It is a 32 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer (136 amino acids) signaling through IL-17R (CDw217). IL-17A enhances ICAM-1 expression and induces secretion of IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE2 in various cell types.
IL-17A also regulates NF-κB and MAPK pathways, stimulates IL-6 and COX-2 expression, and promotes nitric oxide production.
