14-3-3 epsilon은 인산세린 결합 단백질과 결합하여 신호전달을 매개하는 14-3-3 단백질 패밀리에 속합니다. 이 단백질 패밀리는 식물과 포유류 모두에서 발견되며, 마우스 상동체와 100% 동일합니다. CDC25 phosphatases, RAF1, IRS1 단백질과 상호작용하여 세포 분열 및 인슐린 감수성 조절 등 다양한 생화학적 신호전달 과정에 관여합니다. 또한 소세포폐암의 병태생리에 연관되어 있는 것으로 보고되었습니다.
