This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
DIABLO (Smac) is a mitochondrial protein that activates various forms of apoptosis, likely by neutralizing members of the IAP (Inhibitor of Apoptosis Protein) family. During apoptosis, Smac exits the mitochondria and enters the cytosol. Mitochondrial-mediated apoptosis is essential for animal development and tissue homeostasis, and alterations can lead to malignant disorders.
Upon apoptotic stimuli, mitochondrial proteins such as cytochrome c and Smac/DIABLO are released into the cytosol via distinct mechanisms. Smac/DIABLO also plays a key role in sensitizing cancer cells to apoptosis induced by immune or drug-related factors.
