Target Information
ECH1 유전자는 hydratase/isomerase superfamily에 속하는 단백질을 암호화합니다. 이 단백질은 여러 종의 enoyl-CoA hydratase와 높은 서열 유사성을 가지며, peroxisomal targeting sequence를 포함하여 peroxisome에 위치합니다.
Rat ortholog는 peroxisome과 mitochondria matrix 모두에 존재하며, 3-trans,5-cis-dienoyl-CoA를 2-trans,4-trans-dienoyl-CoA로 이성화시킬 수 있습니다. 이는 fatty acid β-oxidation 경로의 보조 단계에서 기능합니다. Rat 유전자의 발현은 peroxisome proliferators에 의해 유도됩니다.
