Target Information
GAD-65와 GAD-67은 글루탐산 탈카복실화 효소로, GABA(gamma-aminobutyric acid) 생성을 촉매합니다. 중추신경계에서 GABA는 주요 억제성 신경전달물질로 작용하며, Cl⁻ 전도성을 증가시켜 신경 발화를 억제합니다.
GABA는 ionotropic(GABAA) 및 metabotropic(GABAB) 수용체뿐 아니라 GABAC 수용체도 활성화합니다. GABAA와 GABAC는 리간드 개폐 이온 채널이지만 구조와 기능이 다릅니다.
GABAC 수용체는 망막에서 빠른 억제성 신경전달을 매개하며, 인간에서는 GABRR1, GABRR2, GABRR3 세 유전자가 해당 수용체를 구성합니다. GABRR1과 GABRR2는 염색체 6q에, GABRR3는 3q11–q13.3에 위치합니다.
