Target Information
CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on nearly all peripheral B cells and is also found on certain myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 serves as a key co-receptor for the B cell receptor (BCR), lowering the threshold for antigen receptor-dependent stimulation. It plays a central role in regulating normal and malignant B cell proliferation. Mutations in CD19 can lead to hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression causes B cell hyperactivity.
