Target Information
PSD-93, also known as chapsyn-110, is a plasma membrane-associated protein found in synaptic junctions. It is uniquely expressed in Purkinje neuron cell bodies and dendrites. PSD-93 contains three PDZ domains, one SH3 domain, and a carboxyl-terminal guanylate kinase homology (GuK) domain that is enzymatically inactive.
PDZ-domain interactions are thought to contribute to receptor and channel clustering, playing a role in neuronal plasticity. PSD-93 interacts with NMDA receptors and shaker-type potassium channels through C-terminal sequence homology (T/SXV motif). It also associates with neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) via PDZ-PDZ interaction.
