  • For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
  • For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The PCDHGC5 gene belongs to the protocadherin gamma gene cluster, one of three related clusters tandemly linked on chromosome 5. These clusters exhibit immunoglobulin-like organization, suggesting a unique regulatory mechanism.
The gamma cluster includes 22 genes divided into subfamilies A (12 genes), B (7 genes + 2 pseudogenes), and C (3 genes). Each variable exon encodes the extracellular region with six cadherin ectodomains and a transmembrane region, while constant region exons encode a shared cytoplasmic domain.
These neural cadherin-like proteins likely contribute to specific cell-cell interactions in the brain. Alternative splicing has been reported for gamma cluster genes.
