Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
ICAD (Inhibitor of Caspase-3-Activated DNase) regulates nuclear apoptosis by inhibiting CAD activity.
It has two isoforms:
- ICAD-L/DFF45 (45 kDa): functional isoform
- ICAD-S/DFF35 (35 kDa): non-functional isoform
ICAD is cleaved by caspase-3 at residues 117 and 224, releasing CAD to induce apoptotic DNA fragmentation.
In non-apoptotic cells, CAD is complexed with ICAD, preventing premature DNA degradation.
ICAD also acts as a folding chaperone for CAD.
Recent studies suggest ICAD as a potential target for restoring apoptotic signaling in colon and brain cancers.
Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encode distinct ICAD isoforms.
