Product Specific Information

  • This product is preservative free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
  • Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits.
  • Advantages include:
    • Better specificity and sensitivity
    • Lot-to-lot consistency
    • Animal origin-free formulations
    • Broader immunoreactivity due to larger rabbit immune repertoire
  • This antibody specifically recognizes Human CPE (Carboxypeptidase E).

Target Information

This gene encodes a carboxypeptidase that cleaves C-terminal amino acid residues and is involved in the biosynthesis of peptide hormones and neurotransmitters, including insulin. It is a peripheral membrane protein that binds regulated secretory pathway proteins, including prohormones, but not constitutively secreted proteins. Mutations in this gene are implicated in type II diabetes.
