Product Specific Information
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 1 mM EDTA buffer (pH 8.0) for 10 minutes followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
After antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 10 minutes at room temperature.
A suggested positive control is tonsil tissue.
Target Information
The Ku80 protein (XRCC5) is the 80-kDa subunit of the Ku heterodimer, also known as ATP-dependent DNA helicase II or DNA repair protein XRCC5.
Ku is the DNA-binding component of the DNA-dependent protein kinase complex, functioning with DNA ligase IV–XRCC4 in DNA double-strand break repair via non-homologous end joining and V(D)J recombination.
Mutations or polymorphisms in this gene are associated with cancer susceptibility and radiosensitivity.
