Target Information
Sall4 protein is encoded by the Sall4 gene located on chromosome 20 in humans and belongs to the Spalt-like protein family.
It plays a crucial role in somatic stem cell maintenance and serves as a stem cell biomarker.
Sall4 is a zinc finger transcription factor upregulated during development and interacts with Oct4 and Sox2, forming a complex with Nanog to maintain pluripotency in embryonic stem cells (ESCs).
Recent studies investigate its function as an oncogene and tumor biomarker, with reported target genes including p53, Bmi-1, Bcl2, and XIAP.
