Target Information

The Collagen triple helix repeat-containing protein (CTHRC1) is a glycosylated, secreted protein transiently expressed in the arterial wall in response to injury. It contributes to vascular remodeling by inhibiting collagen expression and deposition while promoting cell migration.

CTHRC1 is highly expressed in multiple human cancers, including pancreatic cancer, where it plays a significant role in progression and metastasis by regulating tumor cell migration and adhesion. Overexpression can serve as an independent prognostic marker in gastric cancer. Mutations in this locus have been associated with Barrett esophagus and esophageal adenocarcinoma.
