Target Information

Plexin-A3 acts as a coreceptor for SEMA3A and SEMA3F, essential for signaling by class 3 semaphorins and cytoskeletal remodeling. It plays a key role in axon guidance within the developing nervous system and regulates migration of sympathetic neurons. Plexin-A3 is required for normal dendritic spine morphology in pyramidal neurons and may influence semaphorin-mediated programmed cell death. Class 3 semaphorins bind to a complex of neuropilin and plexin, where plexin modulates affinity and activates downstream signaling.
