Product Specific Information
This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned, and individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.
Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies:
- Enhanced specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulation
- Broader immunoreactivity due to the diverse rabbit immune repertoire
This antibody specifically recognizes Human CD82/KAI-1.
Target Information
The CD82 (KAI-1) gene encodes a membrane glycoprotein belonging to the transmembrane 4 superfamily. It functions as a metastasis suppressor, with expression downregulated during tumor progression in human cancers. CD82 expression can be activated by p53 via a promoter binding sequence. Expression levels of CD82 and p53 are strongly correlated, and loss of both proteins is associated with poor survival in prostate cancer patients. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.
