Target Information

GPR65 (also known as TDAG8) is a transmembrane protein belonging to the G protein-coupled receptor superfamily. It consists of 337 amino acids and shares 90% similarity and 81% identity in the seven transmembrane domains with its mouse homolog.
It has three potential N-linked glycosylation sites and is predominantly expressed in lymphoid organs and cancer tissues, with increased expression during activation-induced death of T-cell hybridomas.
Two major transcripts (4.5 kb and 1.8 kb) are found in peripheral blood leukocytes. GPR65 functions as a proton-sensing receptor, coupling to adenylyl cyclase and psychosine, and is involved in the establishment of immunological autotolerance.
It also plays a role in cellular transformation through RhoA activation and actin rearrangement under conditions of tissue acidosis.
