Target Information

TRPA1 is a TRP-related ion channel responsive to cold temperatures and pungent compounds. It is involved in nociceptor and hair cell transduction and is associated with transformation in lung epithelia. TRPA1 expression is primarily in sensory neurons but also found outside the CNS, showing dysregulation during oncogenic transformation. It shares structural similarity with ankyrin and transmembrane proteins and may play roles in signal transduction and growth control.
