Applied Biosystems™ Axiom™ Strawberry FanaSNP 50k Genotyping Array (mini-96 format)

The Axiom FanaSNP Strawberry 50K Genotyping Array offers genome-wide coverage of polymorphic SNPs across cultivated and wild octoploid strawberry species. It is part of the Axiom Agrigenomics Genotyping solution, where target genomic DNA is processed on the GeneTitan Multi-Channel Instrument. The automated workflow includes hybridization, staining, washing, imaging, and genotyping data output for downstream analysis.
Also available in 384-HT format (Cat. No. 551042).

This array was designed by the University of California, Davis Strawberry Breeding Program in collaboration with the Affymetrix Expert Design Program.


Array Content

  • Comprehensive content: 850,000 subgenome-specific SNPs from diverse octoploid strawberry accessions worldwide. 446,644 validated polymorphic SNP genotype clusters showing disomic segregation are publicly available.
  • Production-scale array design: 49,483 SNPs selected and validated for production; includes 5,809 SNPs from the iStraw 35K array for cross-platform connectivity.
  • Reference genomes: SNP positions aligned to the Camarosa v1 reference genome and updated to the UCD Royal Royce (FaRR1) reference genome.
  • Global validation: Variants discovered through WGS resequencing of 47 F. x ananassa, 24 F. chiloensis, and 22 F. virginiana individuals; validated in 384 diverse octoploid strawberry accessions.
