Target Information

NAD-dependent protein deacetylase sirtuin-1 (SIRT1) links transcriptional regulation directly to intracellular energetics and coordinates multiple cellular functions such as cell cycle regulation, DNA damage response, metabolism, apoptosis, and autophagy.
SIRT1 modulates chromatin function through histone deacetylation and affects histone and DNA methylation, leading to transcriptional repression.
It is essential in skeletal muscle cell differentiation and mediates nutrient-dependent inhibition of myoblast differentiation involving AMPK and NAMPT pathways.
